DOUGHNUTS 
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 egg yolks
1 egg
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1 c. milk
4 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. cream of tartar

Beat eggs and add sugar and sifted dry ingredients, add milk, beat well, add flour to make a soft dough. Chill overnight. Roll to 1 inch thickness, cut with doughnut cutter and fry in hot fat, turning often. Drain on paper towels.
