SWEET DOUGH TARTS 
1 c. sugar
4 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/8 tsp. salt
1/2 c. shortening
1/2 c. milk
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla

Sift flour, baking powder and salt together. Cream sugar and shortening; then add eggs. Combine mixture. Roll on floured board, adding more flour as needed. Cut into desired forms.

Pour filling - figs, preserves, etc. Fold dough over to form tarts or small pies. Bake at about 375 degrees until golden brown. Makes approximately 14 tarts.
