WILTED SALAD 
1 lb. crisp leaf lettuce, washed
5 slices bacon, finely chopped
2 tbsp. finely chopped onion
1/2 pt. cherry tomatoes
6-8 radishes (optional)
1 tsp. salt
2 tsp. sugar
2 tbsp. vinegar

Separate lettuce leaves and dry by rolling in a towel and shaking gently. Tear into bite-size pieces. In a large pan, fry bacon until half done. Add onion and continue cooking over low heat until bacon is done. Remove bacon and onions. Reserve 4 tablespoons of drippings in pan.

Pour hot water into a glass or pottery bowl to warm it; drain and dry. Combine lettuce, drained bacon, onion, tomatoes and radishes (if desired), in warmed bowl. To drippings in pan, add salt, sugar and vinegar. Stir to blend and heat to boiling. Immediately pour over lettuce. Toss until thoroughly mixed. Serve immediately while warm.
