SPECIAL SUGAR COOKIES | |
1 c. butter 1 c. powdered sugar 1 c. granulated sugar 2 eggs 1 c. salad oil 2 tsp. vanilla 1 tsp. grated lemon peel 4 1/4 c. all-purpose flour Colored sugar for decoration 1 tsp. baking soda 1 tsp. cream of tartar 1 tsp. salt Mix all ingredients. Wrap and chill (saran wrap can be used) - (looks like cake batter). On cookie sheet, form small balls, flatten into 2 inch diameter with bottom of glass. Apply thin coat of grease on glass first time, so colored sugar will stay on cookie. Preheat oven to 350 degrees for 15 minutes cooking time. Makes 8 dozen. Cookie very thin but crisp. Can store in refrigerator if you like and bake later. Do not freeze batter before baking. |
