2 1/2 c. plain flour
1 c. sugar
1/2 c. firmly packed brown sugar
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1/2 c. chopped pecans
1 c. shortening
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. cut up gum drops

Add all ingredients, except gum drops and pecans; mix at low speed for 2 minutes. Stir in gum drops and pecans. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto greased cookie sheet. Decorate with additional cut up gum drops. Bake at 350 degrees for about 15 minutes. Yields 5-6 dozen.
