HONG KONG HAMBURGER SANDWICH 
1 lb. ground beef
1 beaten egg
1/2 tsp. salt & pepper

Combine above ingredients. Cut French bread in half and only use half. Spread meat mix evenly over bottom half of bread bringing mix to edges. Broil until brown.

SAUCE: 1/4 c. pineapple syrup (drained from pineapple). Blend 1/3 cup brown sugar, 2 teaspoons cornstarch; stir in syrup. 3 tablespoons red wine vinegar, 1 tablespoon soy sauce and 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce. Cook, stirring until it boils. Remove meat from broiler, spoon or brush on glaze. Broil 2 minutes. Spoon on glaze and pineapple and green pepper. Broil. Makes 4 to 6 servings.
