RAISIN SOUR CREAM PIE 
1 c. sugar
2 tbsp. cornstarch
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/4 tsp. cloves
2 eggs, separated
1 c. sour cream
1 c. raisins
1 1/2 tsp. lemon juice
1/2 c. chopped walnuts
1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
1 baked 9 inch pastry shell

Combine 3/4 cup sugar, the cornstarch, salt, and spices in top of a double boiler. Blend in the egg yolks. Add sour cream, raisins, and lemon juice. Cook until thick, stirring constantly. Cool. Add walnuts and pour into baked shell. Top with meringue made as follows. Beat egg whites until frothy. Add cream of tartar and continue beating until peeks begin to form. Gradually beat in remaining 1/4 cup of sugar. Beat until stiff. Spread on top of pie. Bake at 350 degrees (about 15 to 18 minutes). Or until brown.
