EASY OVEN STEW 
1 1/2 lbs. lean beef, cut into cubes
2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp.pepper
1 can tomato soup
1/2 can water
3 lg. potatoes, cubed
2 stalks celery, sliced
4 or 5 carrots, cut in 1/2 and crosswise
2 lg. onions, cut in 1/2 inch slices
1/2 tsp. basil leaves, optional

Place beef in 3 quart casserole dish. Sprinkle with salt, pepper and basil. Top with celery, carrots and onion. Combine soup and water. Pour over top, coating all pieces. Cover tightly and bake in 300 degree oven for 3 hours. Add potatoes and bake 45 minutes longer.
