HOT PEAR RELISH 
1 peck pears
1 qt. vinegar
3 c. sugar
3 tbsp. salt
1 tbsp. turmeric
1 tbsp. mustard seed
1 tbsp. celery seed
2 lbs. onions, ground
6 bell peppers
4 to 6 hot peppers

Boil sugar and vinegar. Grind fruit and vegetables and add, with seasonings, to boiling vinegar. Simmer for 20 minutes, stirring constantly. Fill sterile jars and seal. Recipe makes 16-20 pints.
