GRANDMA'S BOILED RAISIN COOKIES 
1 cup white sugar
1 cup shortening
2 eggs
2 cups oatmeal
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 teaspoon baking soda
2 cups flour
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 to 1 cup raisins (cooked & cooled, save liquid)
10 teaspoons water from boiling raisins

Note: Put raisins in last. Nuts optional.

Mix all ingredients well. Drop by teaspoon on greased cookie sheet.

Bake at 350°F for 12 minutes.
