CABBAGE SUPREME | |
1 med. head cabbage, cut into 8 wedges 1/4 c. finely chopped green pepper 1/4 c. finely chopped onion 1/4 c. butter 1/4 c. all-purpose flour 1/8 tsp. pepper 2 c. milk 1/2 c. mayonnaise or salad dressing 1/2 c. shredded Cheddar cheese 3 tbsp. chili sauce In a covered Dutch oven or large skillet, cook cabbage in small amount of boiling salted water about 12 minutes or just until tender. Drain very well and place in a 9x13 inch baking dish. In a saucepan, cook green pepper and onion in butter until tender. Blend in flour, 1/2 teaspoon salt, and pepper. Add milk; cook and stir until bubbly. Pour over cabbage. Bake, uncovered, in 375 degree oven for 20 minutes. Combine mayonnaise, cheese, and chili sauce; spoon on top of cabbage. Bake for 5 minutes more. Makes 8 servings. |
