MAPLE WALNUT WALKAWAYS 
1 pkg. yeast (or equivalent)
1/4 cup warm water
2 cups all-purpose flour
1/8 tsp. salt
3/4 cup (1 1/2 sticks) butter
3 oz. cream cheese
1/2 cup sugar
1 tsp. maple flavoring
1 tsp. each: lemon and orange rind
1/2 cup walnuts, chopped

Soften yeast in warm water. Add flour and salt. Cut in butter and mix until blended. Roll 1/2 at a time into rectangle. Beat cream cheese, sugar, maple, lemon and orange rind. Beat until fluffy. Spread 1/2 on each rectangle. Sprinkle walnuts. Roll as jelly roll. Place seam side down on greased cookie sheet. Slit lengthwise 3/4 of the way through.

Bake at 375°F for 20 to 25 minutes. Sprinkle with confectioners' sugar. Slice at an angle.

Makes 24 cookies.
