POTLUCK POTATOES 
1/2 c. butter
2 lb. pkg. frozen hash browns, thawed
1 (16 oz.) carton sour cream
1 can cream chicken soup
1/4 c. chopped onion
1 c. shredded cheddar cheese
1 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
2 c. crushed corn flakes
1/4 c. melted butter

Grease a 9x13 inch baking pan with a portion of the butter; set aside. Combine remaining butter with next 7 ingredients; stir well. Spoon mixture into buttered baking dish. Sprinkle corn flakes over casserole; pour 1/4 cup melted butter over top. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes. Serves 8.
