CRANBERRY SALAD 
2 c. cranberries
1 1/2 c. water
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 pkg. cherry Jello
3/4 c. diced celery
1/2 c. diced apples
1/2 c. chopped nuts
Pinch of salt
1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese
1 tbsp. mayonnaise

Cook cranberries in water until soft. Add sugar and continue cooking for 5 minutes. Pour boiling mixture over Jello. Stir, and chill until partly set. Add celery, nuts, salt and apples. Complete chilling. Soften cream cheese at room temperature and beat with mayonnaise until smooth. Top before serving. Garnish with lettuce leaves.
