CUBE STEAK HAYSTACKS | |
1 pkg. hash browns with onions 2 tbsp. shortening 6 beef cubed steaks 1/2 tsp. salt 2 tsp. ketchup Cheddar cheese, shredded (4 oz.) Ketchup Prepare hash browns as directed on package. Set aside. In a large skillet melt shortening. Cook cubed steaks over medium heat 3 to 5 minutes on each side or until brown. Take skillet from heat. Season steaks with salt, spread each steak with 2 teaspoons ketchup, then top each steak with 1/2 cup of cooked hash browns and 1 or 2 tablespoons shredded Cheddar cheese. Return skillet to heat. Cover and cook over low heat 2 or 3 minutes or until cheese is melted. |
