WILD RICE CASSEROLE | |
1 c. wild rice 1 1/2 c. ground beef 1 lg. onion 1/2 tsp. salt 1 can beef consomme 2 cans cream of chicken soup 1 can water 1/2 c. chopped almonds 1/4 tsp. celery salt 1/4 tsp. onion salt 1/4 tsp. garlic salt 1/4 tsp. thyme 1/4 tsp. paprika 1/4 tsp. pepper 1/4 tsp. Accent 3 tbsp. dried parsley 1 crumbled bay leaf Pour enough boiling water over rice to completely cover. Let stand. Fry beef with onion and 1/2 teaspoon salt until brown. In casserole, add consomme, soup, water, almonds and seasonings. Drain rice. Mix with beef and add to casserole. Bake at 350 degrees for 3 hours. Cover for first 2 hours. Can be made with cooked rice also, then reduce baking time to 45 minutes. Serves 6-8. |
