CHOCOLATE CREAM PIE 
1 1/2 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
2 1/2 tbsp. cornstarch
1 tbsp. flour
3 egg yolks
1 tbsp. butter
2 sq. unsweetened chocolate (melted) or cocoa
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. burnt sugar flavoring

Combine first 4 ingredients. Add milk gradually. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly. Boil 1 minute. Remove from heat. Stir a little hot mixture in the slightly beaten egg yolks. Then blend into remaining hot mixture. Boil 1 minute more. Remove from heat, blend in butter, chocolate and flavorings. If you use cocoa, blend cocoa with dry ingredients.

Cool mixture. Pour into 10-inch baked pie shell. Top with 3 beaten egg whites and brown slightly.
