PUMPKIN COOKIES 
2 cups shortening
2 cups sugar
2 eggs
1 (15 oz.) can pumpkin
1 tsp. vanilla
4 cups all-purpose flour
2 tsp. baking powder
2 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 tsp. allspice
2 cups raisins
1 cup chopped nuts

Cream shortening and sugar. Add pumpkin, eggs and vanilla; beat well. Stir together flour, next 5 ingredients and 1 teaspoon salt. Mix well. Stir in raisins and nuts.

;Drop rounded teaspoonfuls 2-inches apart on greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350°F for 12 to 15 minutes. Cool on rack.
