WANDA SKINNERS POLISH BREAD 
1 qt. milk, scalded and cool to lukewarm
3/4 lb. butter
2 heaping tsp. shortening
1/2 c. warm water
4 pkgs. dry yeast, softened in the warm water
1 tbsp. vanilla
3/4 c. port wine
5 lbs. flour
8-10 egg yolks, beaten
2 1/2 c. sugar
2 tbsp. salt
Orange rind, grated fresh
3/4 box white raisins or dried apricots (soak before using)

Scald milk, add butter and shortening. Let cool to lukewarm. Beat egg yolks and mix all wet ingredients together, with fruit.

Mix liquid with flour, sugar, salt and orange rind, adding extra flour or liquid to make a manageable dough. Knead well and place in a greased bowl or pan. Let rise until double, knead again, shape into loaves. Let rise until double, knead again, shape into loaves. Let rise until double and bake in 350 degree oven. Makes 8 loaves.
