3 c. brown sugar
1 1/2 c. butter or lard
1 c. molasses
1 c. sour milk
4 c. flour
5 eggs
1 tsp. baking soda
2 lbs. raisins
1 lb. currants
1/2 lb. citron
2 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. cloves
1 tsp. nutmeg
Nuts (optional)

A little more sour milk and flour can be used to make the cake larger. Cream sugar and butter. Add eggs, milk and molasses, then stir in flour and fruit.
