MOUND CAKE 
1 stick butter
1/2 c. Crisco shortening
2 c. sugar
1/2 c. cocoa, dissolved in enough warm water to make paste
3 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. all-purpose flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. baking soda
1 c. buttermilk

Cream butter, shortening and sugar. Add cocoa and eggs one at a time. Mix in dry ingredients with milk. Makes 3 layers. Bake at 350 degrees approximately 25 minutes.

FILLING:

1 c. milk
1 c. sugar

Bring to a boil. Add 12 large marshmallows, let dissolve and then add 2 packs extra fine coconut; and cook 2 minutes, stirring.

FROSTING:

1/2 c. Crisco shortening
1/2 stick butter
1 tsp. vanilla
4 tbsp. cocoa
1 box XX sugar
1/4 to 1/2 c. hot milk

Cream shortening and butter. Add vanilla and cocoa. Add box of XX sugar. Add hot milk alternately with XX sugar.
