TOFFEE TOPPED CAKE | |
2 c. brown sugar, well packed 1 tsp. baking powder 1 tsp. vanilla 1 egg 1/2 c. chopped walnuts 2 c. flour 1/2 c. soft butter 1/2 tsp. salt 1 c. milk 1 c. semi-sweet chocolate chips Blend brown sugar, flour and butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Remove 1 cup of the mixture and reserve. To remaining mixture add the baking powder, salt, vanilla, milk, and egg. Mix until smooth and blended. Butter a 13x9 cake pan. Turn batter into the pan; spread it evenly. Sprinkle reserved crumbs over evenly, then sprinkle with chocolate chips and walnuts. Bake at 350 degrees for 30-35 minutes. |
