ENGLISH DROP COOKIES 
2 c. sugar
1/2 c. butter
2 c. stewed raisins
2 tsp. baking powder
4 c. flour
1 c. coffee
2 well beaten eggs
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
2 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. salt

Combine sugar, butter and add stewed raisins and eggs. Combine flour, baking powder, soda, cinnamon, nutmeg and salt and add alternately with coffee. Add vanilla. I sometimes glaze these cookies when hot. Heat 2 tablespoons butter until golden brown, beat in 2 cups powdered sugar and 1/4 cup evaporated milk.
