CURRIED CHICKEN IN A POT 
2 1/2-3 lb. boiler fryer chicken, cut up
2 tbsp. oil, butter
1 c. orange juice
1/3 c. raisins or currants
1/2 c. slivered almonds
3 tbsp. chutney, chopped
1-2 tsp. curry powder
1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
5-6 (2 lb.) sweet potatoes, peeled & sliced crosswise into 1" pieces
2 bananas, quartered
1 (11 oz.) can mandarin oranges, drained

Cut sweet potatoes, put in bottom of crock pot. Top with chicken and dot with butter (oil or butter). Sprinkle with salt and pepper.

In bowl, combine orange juice, raisins, almonds, chutney and spices. Pour over chicken. Cook 6 1/2-8 hours until chicken and potatoes are tender.

To serve: Arrange chicken and potatoes on a warm platter. Garnish with bananas and oranges. Skin fat from pan juices. Spoon some sauce over platter. Makes 6 servings.
