CUSTARD CORN BREAD 
3/4 c. yellow cornmeal
1/2 c. plain flour
1 tbsp. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
3 tbsp. butter, melted
1 tbsp. baking powder
1 egg, beaten
1 1/2 c. milk
1/8 tsp. salt
1 tbsp. butter

Sift together dry ingredients. Combine egg and 1 cup milk and melted butter. Add to dry ingredients. Pour batter into iron skillet. Combine 1/2 milk, salt, and 1 tablespoon butter. Pour over batter very carefully in a thin stream (crisscross both ways in pan). Bake 25 to 30 minutes in 400 degree oven until brown on top.
