POLKA-DOT ANGEL BARS 
4 egg whites
1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
1/2 tsp. vanilla
3/4 c. sugar
3/4 c. sifted cake flour
1 tsp. baking powder
3 tbsp. cooking oil
1 (5 3/4 oz.) pkg. milk chocolate pieces (1 c.)
1/2 c. chopped nuts
1 (1 oz.) sq. semi-sweet chocolate
1/2 tsp. shortening

Beat first 3 ingredients until soft peaks form. Gradually add 1/2 cup of the sugar; beat to stiff peaks. Stir flour with remaining sugar, baking powder, and 1/4 teaspoon salt. Fold into whites, 2 tablespoons at a time. Fold in oil, then chocolate pieces, and nuts. Spread in greased and waxed paper-lined 13 x 9 x 2 inch baking pan. Bake at 325 degrees about 30 minutes. Melt chocolate square with shortening; drizzle over warm cookies. Cool; cut into bars. Makes 24.
