CHEESE STRAWS | |
1 c. grated sharp or mild cheddar cheese 2 sticks of butter 2 c. of plain flour Dash of red pepper 1 tbsp. minced dried onions Melt butter. Put cheese in butter while it is still hot, add flour, onion, pepper. Mix well with biscuit dough. Let cool and refrigerate for a day or two. Take it out and let set about 3 hours. Add a little warm water and mix like biscuits until it becomes soft enough to press through the pastry tube, squeeze out the length of fingers on a cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes or until brown. Place on the top rack of oven. Let cool and remove from the pan. |
