DILL PICKLES 
1 qt. vinegar (white)
2 qts. water
1 c. plain salt
1 pinch of alum (size of grape)

Pour over pickles in jars with dill and garlic and red pepper in jar. Process 20 minutes for quarts, 10 minutes for pints.
