BREAD 'N BUTTER PICKLES 
6 qts. sliced cucumbers
1 1/2 qts. cider vinegar
6 c. sugar
6 sliced onions
1 c. salt
1/2 c. mustard seed
1 tbsp. celery seed
1/4 tsp. cayenne pepper

Combine cucumbers, onions and salt, and let stand 3 hours or more (can stand overnight). Drain. Combine vinegar seasoning and boil. Add cucumbers and onions. Heat to simmer. Do not boil. Pack hot in sterile jars. Fill jars with remaining liquid. Can in boiling water bath according to manufacturers instructions for the jars and caps you are using. Ten minutes in boiling bath.
