2 c. sugar
2 tbsp. butter
1 c. cream or canned milk
Mix well and cook until hard in water. Must stir constantly to prevent scorching. Add 1 pound dates, chopped fine. Stir and mash until dates are mixed and smooth. Add 2 cups chopped nuts. Mix well and lay out in a row on a wet cloth. (Wet cloth and wring out well.) Then roll the cloth up, forming candy into roll. Cool in refrigerator until set firm. Can be left in cloth awhile or removed and rolled in plastic wrap then in foil wrap to keep it moist. Improves with age.
