PECAN CANDY 
2 (12 oz.) can evaporated milk
2 sticks butter
3 c. of water
8 to 9 c. sugar
1 lg. pot
5 to 6 c. pecans

Empty evaporated milk in a large deep pot. Next pour the water in pot with milk. Blend sugar with other ingredients. Turn burner on a high fire stirring constantly. Turn oven on 350 degrees. Place pecans on a large pan in oven. Cook until brown. Empty pecans in a bowl. Grease a pan or plate with butter.

Continue to stir milk and sugar until it starts to turn to a light brown color. Put a stick of butter in pot. To test candy drop mixture on a greased plate. If it starts to turn to a soft ball, stir in pecans. Continue to stir mixture until it turns to a semi hard candy. Empty in the greased plate or pan. Cut in squares immediately.
