BANANA WALNUT LOAF 
5 oz. sugar
3 tbsp. Crisco
3 eggs
4 bananas, mashed
2 c. flour, sifted
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. baking soda
1 c. walnuts, chopped

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Grease a 9 inch loaf pan.

In a medium bowl, beat the sugar, Crisco and eggs together with a wooden spoon. Beat until it is light. Beat in the bananas. Sift the flour, baking powder, salt and soda into the banana mixture and beat well. Stir in the walnuts. Pour the mixture into the loaf pan and bake for 1 hour, or until the loaf is done. Test by inserting a warm, dry skewer in the center of the loaf. Turn the loaf out of the pan and allow to cool before slicing.
