TEXAS CAKE | |
2 c. sifted flour 1/2 c. sour cream 1/2 tsp. salt 2 c. sugar 1 tsp. baking soda 2 eggs 2 sticks butter 4 tbsp. cocoa 1 c. water In large bowl mix flour, sour cream, salt, sugar, baking soda and eggs. In small pan bring to boil butter, cocoa and water. Add the boiled mixture to dry ingredients. Mix well and pour into large sheet cake pan 15 1/2 x 10 1/2 x 1 inch that has been greased and floured. Can use cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes. TEXAS CAKE FROSTING: 1 box powdered sugar 1 tsp. vanilla 1 c. pecans, if desired 1 stick butter 4 tbsp. cocoa 6 tbsp. milk Bring to boil butter, milk and cocoa. Remove from heat and add sugar, vanilla and nuts. Beat until smooth. |
