LARGE BANANA CAKE 
3 c. sugar
1 c. shortening
4 eggs
1 c. buttermilk
1/2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. vanilla
3 c. flour, sifted four times
1 c. chopped pecans
6 bananas, mashed

Cream sugar and shortening. Beat in eggs and vanilla. Add dry ingredients and milk. Add bananas and nuts last. Bake in three 10 inch greased and floured cake pans at 325 degrees for 45 minutes to 1 hour, or until cake tests done.

ICING:

1 (3 oz.) pkg. cream cheese
1 box powdered sugar (about)
1 tsp. vanilla

Beat these ingredients together. You may need to add a little buttermilk to make it spreadable. Frost cake and sprinkle with half cup chopped nuts.
