ORIGINAL FRENCH TURKEY DRESSING 
1 lb. butter
4 lbs. onions
1 1/2 lbs. ground beef
1 1/2 lbs. sausage
1 loaf French bread
3 c. Mom's croutons or 2 loaves bread
2 lbs. chestnuts
1/2 c. pine nuts
1/2 c. walnuts
1 can chicken broth

Fry the sausage. Cut onions fine and cook in 1/2 pound butter, add ground beef using 1/4 pound butter to fry it. Cut French bread 1 1/2 inch thick and toast it until golden brown and then dampen each slice with a little water. Also, slightly dampen the croutons. Then put all the ingredients in a large bowl. Mix with 1 cup of chicken broth. Let stand a few hours or overnight and then stuff your turkey.
