KOSHER DILL PICKLES 
13 c. water
6 c. vinegar
1 c. coarse pickling salt
1 tbsp. alum
1 tsp. sugar
4 fresh sprigs dill
1 tsp. dill seed
1 tsp. celery seed
1 tsp. mustard seed
2 cloves garlic

Bring to hard boil, water, vinegar, salt, and alum. Pack cucumbers into sterilized jars; add 1 teaspoon sugar, dill, etc. to each quart. Pour boiling vinegar solution over cukes. Seal at once. Process 10 minutes in boiling bath to seal better.
