MITCHELL BURGERS
4 lbs ground chuck or burger
1 packet Lipton's onion soup mix
6 strips bacon fried crisp and chopped fine
Kraft original BBQ sauce or your choice
salt & pepper
American or cheddar cheese slices
steak buns or onion buns

Mix burger, soup mix, and bacon. Add a tablespoon or so of BBQ sauce. Not enough to make the mix soupy.

Make the patties the size of the bun being used and about 1/2 inch thick.

Here is the important part: Make a hole in the center of the patty about the size of the end of your finger. The hole allows the burger to cook all the way through without over cooking the outside.

Top with cheese and your choice of condiments.

I really really liked these. Served them for father's day and got rave reviews. Makes a LOT, consider halving the recipe if serving less than 8-12. SUPER GOOD! Thanks, Robert!

I searched here and there, all kinds of sites, in order to find just the right burger recipe for our tailgate. I don't now why I did because, once again, cooks.com came through for me. Thanks to all for submitting recipes, testing recipes, and most importantly, the recipes themselves. We may not be "top chefs," but, by golly, we can cook! :)
