CHEWY COCOA BROWNIES 
1 c. flour
1/2 plus 1/8 c. cocoa
1 tsp. salt
1/2 c. plus 1 tbsp. shortening
2 c. white sugar
4 eggs, well beaten
1 tsp. vanilla
Chopped nuts

Cream shortening; add sugar gradually. Add eggs and vanilla and blend. Sift flour, cocoa, and salt. Add to sugar and egg mixture. Add nuts. Bake in a greased and floured 9 x 13 inch pan at 350 degrees for 35-40 minutes.
