BONNIE JEAN'S BEST EVER GREENS | |
You can make this dish ahead to reheat later. It gets better the next day! 1 bag pre-washed chopped collards, mustard, or turnip greens 1 tsp. chopped garlic 1-2 tbsp. balsamic vinegar olive oil pinch of sugar Kosher salt and pepper, to taste smoked ham or bacon, chopped (optional) Heat olive oil (two turns in pan) to medium hot. Add garlic and stir for 30 seconds. Add smoked ham or bacon and stir (if using). Add chopped greens and sauté, turning continuously until leaves are wilted. Add one or two splashes (approximately 1-2 tablespoons) of balsamic vinegar to steam greens for about 30 seconds to 1 minute. Add pinch of sugar; then season with salt and pepper to taste. Stir to combine all ingredients. Tip: If greens are too dry, add 2 tablespoons of water. Reduce heat to low and cover for 20 minutes to infuse flavors. Submitted by: Bonnie Jean Taylor |
