BACK-TO-SCHOOL COOKIES 
1 c. unsalted butter, room temperature
1 c. each - granulated sugar, packed light brown sugar
2 lg. eggs
2 c. all-purpose flour
2 c. quick-cooking oats
1 c. raisins or chocolate chips or corn flakes or flaked coconut
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. baking soda
2 c. crisp rice cereal
1/2 tsp. baking soda

Heat oven to 350 degrees. Cream butter and sugars in a large mixing bowl until light and fluffy. Gradually beat in eggs and vanilla. Sift flour, baking soda, and baking powder. Using a wooden spoon, gradually add flour mix to creamed mix. Stir in oats, cereal, and raisins. Put dough, by rounded teaspoon onto lightly greased baking sheets 2 inches apart. Bake 10-12 minutes. Cool on wire rack.
