Makes 8 servings. Should be prepared just before serving time.
Equipment: Saucepan, cherry pitter, spoon, chafing dish, ice cream scoop, and measuring cups. 1 c. sugar 2 c. orange juice 1 c. brandy 1 qt. vanilla ice cream
Wash cherries and remove stems. Remove pits, using a cherry pitter, hairpin, or opened paper clip and place cherries in a saucepan. Add sugar and orange juice; bring to a boil and simmer 5 minutes. Pour mixture without stirring. Ignite; serve immediately over vanilla ice cream. Yield: 4 to 6 servings.
