PEACH COBBLER | |
1 qt. peaches, either fresh or frozen 1 stick butter 1 c. sugar (omit if peaches are sweet) 3 sticks pie crust mix Or enough to line a 7"x11" Pyrex dish, bottom, sides and enough to cover the top. In a saucepan heat peaches, butter and sugar (if needed) while you are fixing crust. Pour peach mixture into crust and cover pie with crust. On top of pie sprinkle about 1/4 cup sugar and then pats of butter, about 1/2 stick. Bake in 375 degree oven until golden brown. Make a sauce of 1/4 stick of butter and 1/4 cup sugar and about 1/2 cup water in saucepan where you cooked your peaches and bring to a boil or until butter and sugar are mixed real good. When pie is done, spoon mixture over pie. It will dissolve into the pie. I think the secret to this pie is the peaches. I freeze my peaches with sugar, when they are in season and I prefer real Heaven, they freeze real well and will not turn dark. |
