1 1/4 c. butter, softened
2 c. sugar
2 eggs
2 tsp. vanilla
2 1/4 c. flour
1/2 c. cocoa
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
2 c. peanut butter or semi-sweet chocolate chips

Heat oven to 350 degrees. In large mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs and vanilla, beat well. Combine flour, soda and salt. Stir in chips. Drop by teaspoon onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 8 to 9 minutes. Do not overbake. Cookies should be soft. Let cool. Yield 4 dozen cookies.
