CHEWY CHOCOLATE COOKIES 
1 1/4 c. soft butter
2 c. sugar
3/4 c. cocoa
2 eggs
1 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. salt
2 c. flour
2 c. chocolate chips
Nuts; optional

Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs and vanilla; beat well. Combine flour, cocoa, baking soda, and salt. Blend into creamed mixture. Stir in chips and nuts. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 8-9 minutes. DO NOT OVER BAKE. Cookies will be soft. They will puff while baking and flatten while cooling. Cool slightly; remove from cookie sheet. These cookies break easily.
