BREAD AND BUTTER PICKLES 
8 c. cucumbers
2 c. onions
2 c. vinegar
2 tsp. celery seed
3 c. sugar
2 tsp. powdered turmeric
3" stick cinnamon
4 green peppers, finely chopped with seeds removed

Wipe cucumbers and slice as thinly as possible without paring. Combine with the sliced onions and sprinkle generously with salt. Let stand overnight. Wash and drain, combine with other ingredients. Bring to boiling point and cook until tender. Seal in jars.
