CREAM OF BROCCOLI SOUP 
10 oz. frozen broccoli
1 1/2 qts. water (6 c.)
3/4 c. finely chopped onions
2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. garlic powder
8 oz. American cheese
1 c. milk
1 c. heavy cream
1/4 c. butter
1/3 c. all-purpose flour
1/2 c. cold water

In a 3 quart pan bring 1 1/2 quarts of water to boil. Add broccoli and onion; boil 10-12 minutes. Add seasonings and shredded cheese, milk, butter and cream. Stir and heat to boiling. Slowly add 1/2 cup cold water to flour stirring constantly until mixture is smooth. Slowly add to hot mixture stirring rapidly. Cook and stir until soup is the consistency of heavy cream.
