ANISETTE CANDY 
5 1/2 c. sugar
1 c. water
1 pt. white Karo syrup

Boil until hard crack stage on candy thermometer. Food coloring Mineral oil (from drugstore)

When candy reaches hard crack stage, remove from stove and add food coloring first, then add anise oil.

Grease pizza pan with mineral oil generously!! Pour candy into pan and let set until firm. Score with knife into squares. Don't cut candy all the way through. Let cook, then turn out on wax paper and crack with knife. You may use any food coloring and also different oils.
