KRABELI 
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
2 tbsp. anise seed
pinch of baking powder
2 cups all-purpose flour
grated rind of 1 lemon

Stir sugar and eggs until foamy. Add rest of ingredients and knead into a dough. Form into little rolls about length and size of a finger and put on baking sheet in the form of a quarter moon. Make oblique slits on the outside perimeter. Take to a warm room and let stand 12 hours.

Bake in moderate (350°F) oven until light yellow.
