ICE BOX ROLLS 
1 c. boiling water
1/2 c. sugar
1 tbsp. shortening
1/2 tsp. salt
2/3 c. warm water
1 pkg. yeast
1 tbsp. sugar
1 beaten egg
4 c. flour

Mix boiling water, 1/2 cup sugar, shortening and salt and let cool. Mix warm water, yeast and 1 tablespoon sugar and let set 5 minutes. Add egg and 2 cups flour and mix with first part and beat good with mixer. Add 2 more cups flour and mix well and refrigerate.

Makes rolls of desired amount.

Bake at 375°F for about 20 minutes. Refrigerate rest of dough. Use within 3 days.
