WINTER SAUSAGE SOUP 
2-3 lbs. Italian sausage, browned
1 med. onion, chopped
1 c. sliced carrots
1 (28 oz.) can whole tomatoes
3 potatoes, peeled & cubed
7-8 c. beef stock
1 clove garlic (opt.)
1 tsp. brown sugar
Salt & pepper to taste
3 c. shredded cabbage
1 c. egg noodles, cooked

Brown sausage and drain off fat. Add remaining soup ingredients except cabbage and noodles (being careful with pepper and salt). Bring to boil, cover and simmer for 1 hour. Add cabbage and noodles and cook for 15 minutes. (I use 1 large can crushed tomatoes and 1 can of tomato sauce.)
